Mr. Hyde's Custom Leather

Or, "What I want to do when I grow up."

This web page is dedicated to the memories of Carol Whiting, my second wife
and Debra Whiting, my third wife, who taught me what love is,
and to "J.V.," who taught me what love is NOT.

It is also dedicated to my friend and former fiancée, Kit Townsend, who, along with her beautiful horses, got me started in working leather.

Mr. Hyde's Custom Leather is the name I plan to give to my business when I finally take the plunge. I already operate under that name for practice, but since my work has been mostly done at the request of friends or as gifts, you could hardly call it a "business" just yet. More like a hobby that sometimes pays for materials. Although I include contact information, this is NOT a commercial site (yet).

While this site could be considered to be perpetually under construction, updates will probably be erratic and infrequent.

I've done a little bit of everything: jewelry, horse tack (but not saddles, yet), holsters (including cellphone holsters), sword and knife sheaths, wallets, belts, even a pair of gloves from a custom-made pattern. (Not impressed by gloves? Fine, you try it.)

On my "I want to learn how to do that!" list are saddles, garments, shoes and boots, and braiding projects like whips and horse reins. If you have suggestions for items I should add to my learning list, feel free to suggest them. [grin]

Right now, I have only a few basic categories here, sometimes having but a single example. Even for items where I've made more than one, I've tried to present only the more interesting examples.

At this time, the categories are Holsters (including cellphone holsters), Sheaths, Jewelry, Horse Tack, Accessories (wallets, checkbook covers, et cetera), Art, and the ever-popular Miscellaneous.

By its very nature, a site like this tends to be graphics intensive, so I'm putting up separate pages with larger images for each category; click on a thumbnail image to link to that category's page.
